Swiss chemical giant Clariant plans to cut 1000 jobs


Clariant, a Swiss specialty chemicals company, said Friday it would cut about 1000 service and regional structure jobs and set aside 70 million Swiss francs (about 500 million yuan) in the fourth quarter as part of its transformation and scale adjustment plan, according to market watch, a Dow Jones news website.
The company said the adjustment will enable Clariant to focus on core business areas such as care chemicals. The adjustment plan is expected to take two years. In addition, Clariant also said that by the end of 2021, the target of saving 50 million Swiss francs (about 360 million yuan) in cost will be achieved.
